Tai Chi Workshop For Senior Citizens Held At Mangalore

Tai Chi is originally one kind of the supreme ultimate Chinese Wushu(Kung Fu), but the ancient masters had found that its training method-slow motion exercise includes the huge benefit of health.From then, Tai Chi has been shown a development in various fields as martial arts, health and sports.
In various countries, many senior citizens enjoy to practice Tai Chi, also participate the performance tournemant as sports, even 60-80's age group people.

Lions Club Mangalore and Mangalore Senior Citizens Association(MASCA) organized 'Tai Chi Fitness Workshop For Senior Citizens' jointly at Lions Seva Mandir, by instruction of Lion Haruka Ito, a Japanese stay in Mangalore. 
They prepared this function for the health benefit for both of their senior members. 
At the inauguration, Lion President C.P. Dinesh, Secretary Lion Satish Rai, Treasurer Lion Joseph E Menezes, MASCA President Jagadish Rao, Secretary Ramesh Rao, Treasurer Gopalakrishna Kini and Lioness President Vidya Poojary participated.

Tai Chi workshop's Instructor, Lion Haruka Ito is Gold Medalist at All Japan Wushu Taijiquan Championships in 2001 and Hong Kong International Wushu Festival in 2005/2007-2009. Now, she has been promoting Wushu(Kung Fu, includind Tai Chi) in Mangalore.
She provided her demonstration performance and Tai Chi instruction for the participants by slow motion's basic combination.
The participants enjoyed this new experience, by reason of Tai Chi exercise's physical load is not hard, the exercise intensity is that can be practiced in the seniors.

Lion Haruka Ito wish Mangalore will be a thriving place of Tai Chi and Wushu(Kung Fu) in India near future.
